The electric harp is an instrument based on its acoustic original. A true electric solid-body harp cannot be played acoustically since it has no hollow soundbox, and must be amplified when played.

The electric harp gained prominence in the recent years due to its amplifying options and the opportunity to sound well with addition of background music. This creates numberless options for experimenting and adapting the harp to music, which it is not in general suited for. That gives the player the freedom to perform variety of Arabic and contemporary music songs adding the gentle character of the harp sounds.. The harp is relatively light and it allows the player to carry it on
belt as well. This makes the instrument perfect for events where the player is flexible to move around.
